Maverick Day 7 12-21-2022

MAVERICK is progressing good. In the morning we continued just waiting for him to open his mouth on his own and take the bumper and hold it. I felt he was doing it well enough to move on to the next step. At night after doing the yard work with heel and teaching him to sit at a stop we got on the table and kept the wonder lead on him. This is the first step in conditioning him to pressure cued by the lead. Now that he knows we want him to take the bumper in his mouth a little pressure applied from the lead, which is a slip lead, and he should open his mouth and we place the bumper in it. The pressure is releases once he opens his mouth and the bumper is in it. It is very little pressure and they learn quickly this way. Maverick did good and responded well we did several reps and called it good.
