Kayce & Nelli Day 28 6-26-2022

AM: NELLI was first, we started on retrieving and she did great. Soon we will start going to the park and work on longer retrieves. Afterwards we did more work on heel, sit, and stay then did more place work. Right now the biggest thing we are working on is "stay". KAYCE was next and we did more retrieves. He is doing great and we will soon go to the park and work on longer retrieves. Afterwards we did more place work. He is doing great on that. He sits and stays great.

After a few days in the park doing longer marks (retrieves), for Nelli and Kayce, we will start to introduce the .22 caliber bumper launcher to work on steadiness simultaneous with longer marks. I introduced a new release que for both dogs today, instead of just saying "fetch", I want them to release on their name. So after I threw the bumper I would say "Kayce" to send him on the retrieves and same thing for Nelli. They both did great at understanding this. We want them to learn this by themselves so that later when they are working together at the same time we can send the dog we want to retrieve the bumper or bird, instead of both of them going after the same bumper at the same time. This will be important when hunting them both together.
