Kayce Day 24 6-22-2022

AM: Played in the yard then we got back to business. Kayce is making improvements on holding onto the bumper. He's not perfect but it's improving which is all I can ask at this point. He has great retrieving desire as I'm sure he always had before I got him, however he showed today why we go through this trained retrieve process. He had several good retrieves without any pressure, but then ran over to the bumper after I threw it and he just looked at it and walked off, so I told him NO and applied pressure with the command FETCH and he went over and immediately picked it up. This showed he completely understands the command along with the collar pressure. He will eventually get to where he knows he has to do when we command him to without any pressure. After retrieving we started to work on the place stand. All we do to start off on that is just encourage them with treats to get on the stand. We did several repetitions with this and will start doing it twice a day. 

PM: After playing in the yard we went back to retrieving. Kayce is improving on holding on to the bumper the entire time. After retrieving we did more place work. He is starting to understand the place command.
