Basil Day 55 11-5-2022 Send Home Day

BASIL finished his retrieving training and his owner came and picked him up. We put some pigeons out for him to point and we flushed them and shot them. These were the first birds we have shot for Basil since finishing his retrieving. Not surprisingly he wanted to drop it a couple times but he did retrieve them. After we were done we let Basil rest for a few minutes and then we did retrieving throwing the birds we just shot. Basil retrieved them to his owner good and I explained to him how to correct Basil if he makes a mistake and that he needs to continue to play fetch him multiple times a week and that he just needs more reps retrieving birds shot over him and that he will get better with those shortly.
